Here are a few helpful hints that will make you Front Porch Fest experience the best it can be!
The weather at Spirithaven is fickle – be sure to bring sunscreen, a rain poncho, and a sweater. It gets really chilly when the sun goes down. Don’t forget a flashlight and extra batteries, some bug spray.
Camping is primitive. Electricity, running water, and rock and root free campsites are not available. There is field and wooded camping available. No open fires are permitted.
Bring a reusable water bottle. There will be water refilling stations located throughout the festival grounds. If you are camping, consider bringing reusable dishes. Be kind to the Earth, and help keep costs down by washing your dishes, instead of tossing them away.
No glass is permitted on site. No open display of alcohol, no drugs, and no weapons.
You are welcome to bring your camping chairs (in fact, we encourage it), but please be considerate of other people, and don’t leave your chair parked at a stage when you aren’t watching a show.
If you are volunteering, don’t forget your volunteer deposit!
Don’t put the address in your GPS, or try to use MapQuest!!! Captain Frunch lovingly spent hours typing up directions for you, please print them from our website (www.frontporchfest.com ) and use them. If not, you might end up in Woolwine. Or stuck on a four wheeler path. It’s happened before.
Don’t forget to bring your donation for Patrick County Community Food Bank. They are always in need of toilet paper, as well as nonperishable food items.
Ice will be available for purchase on site, in a convenient location at a reasonable price. All proceeds from ice sales benefit the festival and the charities it helps support.
Parking is limited, so please plan to carpool. Also, the road into the site can be treacherous, especially during rain, so SUVs are recommended (but certainly not required).
Cell phone service is very spotty at the festival site, and Wifi is not available. There is a phone at the office in case of emergency, and we will gladly share that phone number if you have need of it.
The festival site is located on a working farm. Please do not bring your pets, as it is a biosecurity risk.
No smoking is allowed under the pavilion. Please refrain from smoking in densely populated areas, and field strike your cigarettes. There are butt cans located all around the main stage, DO NOT throw your butts on the ground – this is a serious fire hazard.
Go barefoot at your own risk – Spirithaven is home to stinging insects, poisonous plants, and briers and brambles.
Make sure to check out the children’s area this year!! We’ve put a lot of energy into it, and will be having events throughout the weekend.
